Mannequin appears to be storm's only casualty Sunday Oct 16, 2016 at 6:50 PM Oct 16, 2016 at 6:51 PM A female mannequin appears to be the only casualty of Sunday’s storm. Dispatchers received a report shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday of a body in Bear Creek near the footbridge in Railroad Park. “Somebody saw a head and hair tangled up in the branches along the creek,” said Medford Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Kip Gray. Later, the caller reported that it was a female head, judging by the makeup, but he or she wasn’t sure if it was real or a mannequin. Medford Fire-Rescue and Medford police arrived on the scene. Firemen forged their way through blackberry bushes to get down to the creek where they were able to confirm that it was a mannequin head, Gray said. Medford police Sgt. Jason Antley said the fire department fished the head out of the creek, using a long pole with a hook on it, “so we wouldn’t get any more calls ."
