Huyett earns 200th win in SOU's 94-28 rout RAIDER ROUNDUP ASHLAND -- Southern Oregon University women's basketball coach Shirley Huyett recorded her 200th career coaching victory in an impressive 94-28 victory over non-conference foe Warner Pacific College at McNeal Pavilion. The 20th-ranked Raiders (13-9) scored 32 of the game's first 35 points and held the Knights (2-19) without a field goal over the first eight minutes. Warner Pacific's 28-point output was the fourth-stingiest defensive effort in SOU history. SOU allowed only three field goals in the first half en route to a 47-13 halftime edge, and the rout continued when the Raiders went on a 26-3 run to start the second stanza. Raider sophomore Melissa England led all scoring with 16 points, while freshman forward Jaime Stanford, who missed 10 games earlier in the season with a broken facial bone, came off the bench to record a career-high 15 points and five rebounds. Junior guard Tiwana Merritt tallied 12 points and a career-high eight assists for SOU, winners of six of its last eight games. Huyett, one of only four coaches ever to reach the 200-win plateau in the 73-year history of athletics at SOU, is now 200-92 over 10 seasons at the Raider helm.
