The building firm with 110 employees outscored runner-up Express Employment Professionals of Tualatin, 543.2 to 518.2 in the large company division. More than 230 companies participated in the 100 Best survey, which analyzes Oregon companies’ best practices toward creating great places to work. More than 9,000 employees completed the survey. A company's benefits and compensation, work environment, decision-making and trust, performance management, and career development and learning factor into the scoring. Central Point-based Grange Co-op, with 250 employees, placed 28th among the large companies with a 480.3 total, while US Cellular, whose regional office oversees 203 employees, had a 478.4 score. Among medium-sized companies, with 35 to 99 employees, the Medford office of Avista Utilities, with a staff of 56, was No. 18 with a score of 523.46. Women’s Health Center of Southern Oregon in Grants Pass, which has 57 employees, was No. 31 with a 509.4 score. In the small company division, for firms with 10 to 34 employees, Medford's Steelhead Finance, with 30 employees, was No. 11, scoring 535.7. Jackson County Physical Therapy of Medford, with 28 employees came in No. 16 with 527.6 points. Unis wants to build apartment complex Ronald Unis and the Unis Family Trust are seeking approval to build a four-unit apartment building on a .27-acre parcel on the corner of Skyhawk Ridge Drive and Viewcrest Drive. The two-story units have approximately 750 square feet of living space on each level and are equipped with 400-square-foot attached two-car garage. The matter goes before the Medford Site Plan and Architectural Commission on March 18.
