We asked: What's your advice for graduates from the class of 2006? After you read through the answers from our Web readers, check out our new question, which pertains to the Medford School Districts bond proposal. Do what you love and you'll love what you do! — C. Elliott, Medford Be true to yourself no matter what peers, authorities or society tell you. — G. Jones, Talent Go to school or get a job. Move out of your parents' home. Make your own decisions. Accept responsibility for your decision and actions. Don't expect others government, parents, friends to solve your "disasters." — Kenneth C., Ashland Live a good life, enjoy as much of your life as possible, work hard, be honest. — MoPar, Cyberspace If you plan on going to an institution of higher learning, do it immediately after high school. Much easier that way. It gets way too easy to rack up debt or put school off. I wish I had done it differently! Oh and stay far away from plastic. 30 seconds to ruin it, 7+ years to fix it! — Steve R., Medford If it's high school, go to college. If it's college, find a career you will enjoy and live life well. It's the only one you will ever have. — GDH, Jacksonville My advice is to go to college get your degree and move out of the valley. If you stay here you will be taken advantage of by your employer low wages, inadequate benefits. The cost of living in the valley is too high. Your hard earned money will go a lot further elsewhere. — Ron G., Medford The only way to make it in life is to work hard and keep trying to find the next step in the ladder. Don't think a diploma is your answer, whether it be high school or college. I have a degree and can't use it to make enough money to live comfortably without killing myself at work every day. Not only is it the best education you'll ever get but you'll gain a better appreciation for what you have.
