Mid-Valley Pepsi pounded out 26 hits in the twin bill and pinned 12-4 and 10-1 league losses on the RiverDogs. The same two teams meet today in a league doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Miles Field. The first game is scheduled for nine innings and the second is a seven-inning contest. The RiverDogs (2-2, 0-2 OBA) were tied 3-3 after the sixth inning of the opener, but Mid-Valley erupted for eight runs in the seventh to take command. Pepsi combined four hits with three walks and two errors off Southern Oregon starter Nick Newmann and reliever Jesse Stevenson. Dan Moody hit a two-run double while Troy Gustafson added a two-run single to fuel the rally. Third baseman Moody sparked Mid-Valley’s attack with a 4-for-5, three-RBI performance. Mid-Valley jumped on Southern Oregon starter Steve Pegrin of Rogue River for five runs in the first inning of the nightcap. Pepsi had just three hits in the scoring spree but stole five bases in the opening inning. Mid-Valley pitcher Zach BanGriend went the distance in the seven-inning second game. BanGriend struck out eight and walked one. Ryan Garrett and Abe Bumpkin each had two hits for the RiverDogs in Game 2.
