A 25-year-old Shady Cove woman who died in an early Saturday morning crash on Highway 62 has been identified. Tori Lynn Anderson, who had been partially ejected from a 2017 Honda Accord after it crashed into the back of a semi-truck parked on the shoulder near Brophy Way, died at the scene, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Investigators determined Anderson, the front seat passenger, wasn't wearing a seat belt. The crash, just south of Brophy Way, was reported at 2:29 a.m. Saturday to emergency dispatch. The driver, Cody Dylan Lowe, 24, of Shady Cove, was transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center for a possible arm fracture and other minor injuries, according to the sheriff's deputies. The back seat passenger, Tyler Robert Van Houten, 25, of Shady Cove, was transported to Rogue Regional for treatment of minor injures and wasn't wearing a seat belt, investigators said. Sheriff's detectives, a medical examiner investigator, and members of the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team responded. At the time of the crash, the roadway was not affected by ice or other weather-related conditions. Deputies are investigating whether impairment contributed to the crash.
