How you can help Here are organizations that need help over the holidays: Rogue Valley Christmas Toy Drive , coordinated by CERVS with help from the Salvation Army and ACCESS, needs new, unwrapped toys. Take toys to drop sites at CERVS, 601 N. Grape St., or Lithia Motors, 600 and 700 N. Central Ave. Food donations are welcome. ACCESS Inc. Food Share , together with the Mail Tribune, is collecting bags of nonperishable food to stock food pantries throughout the winter. Fill bags with food or mail a donation. The food drive lasts through December. Bags can be dropped off at any fire station in the county, or at these local churches: Ascension Lutheran at 2617 E. Barnett Road in Medford from 8 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Lidgate Hall behind Medford Congregational at 1801 E. Jackson St. First Christian at 1900 Crater Lake Ave. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. St. Peter's Lutheran at 1020 E. Main St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Westminster Presbyterian at 2000 Oakwood Drive from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Bags can also be dropped off at Sherm's Thunderbird and Food 4 Less in Medford. For more information, call ACCESS at 779-6691. The Salvation Army has received more than 1,000 applications from low-income families for Christmas baskets, and will accept food donations through Wednesday. The army also assigns families to businesses and individuals interested in adopting a family and helping them with food and gifts for Christmas. The agency still needs turkeys, stuffing mix, canned food, and baking ingredients, including flour, sugar and shortening, for the holiday baskets. Drop off donations at the Salvation Army office, 922 N.
