Rowland, will be given next Sunday afternoon, May 7, in the City Park. Rehearsals have been under way for several weeks for the occasion. Mr. Rowland's reputation alone is sufficient guaranty that earnest and conscientious work has been done and that a very creditable performance may be expected. An added interest in the occasion will be awakened by the announcement that this initial concert will be devoted to the memory of Shakespeare, as a part of the program of events arranged for by Mrs. Alan Brackinreed as chairman of the Shakespeare celebration committee of the local Drama league center, in its participation in the nationwide celebration of the tercentennial anniversary of Shakespeare's birth and death. Shakespearean music will form a part of the program and an address on Shakespeare will be given by a well-known speaker. HOTEL OBSERVES FIRST ANNIVERSARY One year ago today the Holland hotel was opened under the management of John A. Westerlund, assisted by Carl Tengwald and A. F. Heinz. During the past year that popular hostelry has enjoyed a most successful and satisfactory business, both local and commercial. Since the first of this year the "full-house" sign has been displayed a number of times and the hotel has been enjoying almost capacity business during that time. This is indeed gratifying to the management, considering that the past year has, in many respects, been an off year in business activities. With the evident return of good times the Holland is assured an excellent business. Mr. Westerlund, the owner, has personal charge of the hotel and devotes a large part of his time to its management. The doors of the Holland have been thrown open always to local social occasions of importance, to lectures under the auspices of prominent local clubs, to art exhibits and to any and all matters of public interest.
