The remains of Terri Moore were retrieved late Sunday afternoon from the lake below the D Loop at the Stewart State Park campground, Jackson County Sheriff Mike Winters said. Her sandal was found at the water’s edge at the bottom of a steep embankment. Moore’s death was initially believed to be an accidental drowning, Winters said. No evidence of criminal activity was indicated. Law enforcement marine and canine teams and local civil air patrol workers had searched for Moore since about 7 a.m. Sunday. Advertisement That’s when friends reported that they couldn’t find Moore, who was last seen just after midnight Saturday. She apparently had come to the campground to meet friends Saturday afternoon. When she failed to appear Sunday morning, law enforcement officials began a search. They found Moore’s car with the hood up, indicating she may have been having engine trouble. Friends and family members were at the scene when Moore’s body was found, he added.
