Panthers erupt for 38-0 win KLAMATH FALLS It was payback time for the South Medford football team as the Panthers rolled into Modoc Field and snapped a three-game losing streak with a 38-0 win over Klamath Union on Friday. The Panthers were out to avenge a tight 18-17 loss to the Pelicans last season. South put the game away early, cruising to a 21-0 halftime lead. "They played really well," said Klamath Union coach Wayne Amos. "Their defensive line ate our offensive line up the whole night." Sophomore quarterback Boomer Marshall led a rejuvenated Panther offense with 219 yards through the air on 14-for-21 passing. "They (Panthers) ran the counter well, and Boomer was throwing the ball all over us," said Amos. The South Medford defensive front pushed the Pelicans around the entire contest, holding Klamath Union to 78 total yards. South amassed 418 yards. "Theyd make a long pass and burn us with the big play," said Amos. "But they also controlled it most of the night. They just had the ball more than we did." South Medford improved to 3-3 overall on the season and 3-2 in SOC play. Klamath Union remained winless at 0-4. ROSEBURG 20, EAGLE POINT 6 At Roseburg, the Roseburg defense held Eagle Point to just 127 total yards in a Southern Oregon Conference game. Conway Bixby led the Indians with 116 yards on 18 carries as Roseburg racked up 298 yards on the ground. The Eagles managed just 12 yards rushing on 22 carries and totalled 115 yards through the air. ASHLAND 26, REDMOND 8 At Redmond, Ryan Clevenger threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to Brandon Clark to secure the non-conference win for the Grizzlies. Ryan Goodman had the only points of the first half with a 20-yard field goal for the Grizzlies. Ashlands Mac Contreras rushed for 99 yards on 20 carries, including an 8-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Josh Wagenblasts 49-yard touchdown pass to Josh Snider brought Redmond to within two points of Ashland with 2:30 left in the third. The Grizzly defense had three sacks in the second half to stop drives for Redmond. The two teams combined for 21 penalties for 241 yards.
