Allred tied for 126th after first round Dec 01, 2011 12:00 AM A A LA QUINTA, Calif. — Jason Allred shot a 1-over-par-73 to tie for 126th place after the first round at the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament on Wednesday. The former Ashland High standout, who now lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., recorded four birdies to go along with three bogeys and a double bogey in the 156-player field at PGA West in LaQuinta, Calif. The top 25 in the six-round final event will earn 2012 PGA Tour cards. Will Claxton and Daniel Summerhays topped the leaderboard at 8-under 64. Claxton opened on the Nicklaus Tournament Course, and Summerhays played the TPC Stadium Course. Vaughn Taylor, William McGirt, Billy Hurley III and Bae Sang-moon were a stroke back. Taylor and McGirt played the Nicklaus Course, and Hurley and Bae opened on the Stadium Course. David Duval had a 72 on the Stadium Course.
