Why is it there? —Amy Q., Medford The new-ish bridge that appears to lead nowhere over that stretch of Bear Creek will one day be in the midst of a regional sports park being developed by the city of Medford. Contractor Holm II, of Salem, completed it last year as part of a nearly $2.5 million Bear Creek Greenway project funded by the federal government, the Greenway Foundation, and the cities of Medford and Phoenix. Area Rotary clubs donated to the foundation, so the bridge is called the Rotary Bridge. As adjacent sections of the trail are done, cyclists and pedestrians will be able to cross the creek there. Cars will also use the bridge to access parking lots and playing fields planned for the sports park. Send questions to "Since You Asked," Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O.
