The Hornets, now 3-2 in conference play, built a 17-point lead in the closing minutes of the third quarter before the Knights whittled the deficit to five late in the fourth. Darren Clark scored 25 points, had five assists and two blocks to lead North Valley (7-8, 2-3 Skyline), but the Knights couldn’t overcome a frigid shooting performance in the second and third quarters. Miles Hohnstein hauled in a team-high 10 rebounds, while Quentin Tisch had six assists for North Valley. NORTH VALLEY (54) — Clark 25, Ash 11, Shannon 8, Tisch 8, Hohnstein 3, Griess 0, Silva 0. Totals: 20 10-12 54. HENLEY (63) — Morgan 21, Hanson 17, Matchett 11, Martin 8, Smith 3, LeRoy 2, Nonella 1, Hargrave 0, Wamick 0. Totals: 27 4-13 63. Girls Skyline Conference NORTH VALLEY 44, HENLEY 29 — Elaina Renius scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked seven shots as North Valley ran its winning streak to seven with a Skyline Conference victory. Whittney Makepeace also had a solid game, scoring nine points, snatching seven boards and swiping seven steals, and the Knights (8-3, 5-0 Skyline) maintained a double-digit lead through most of the game.
