Since You Asked: Mystery plane in disguise Dec 20, 2007 12:00 AM A A It seems about every afternoon, as I sit at my desk at work, I see a Frontier Airlines airplane landing at the Medford airport. But, unless I missed something, Frontier doesn't serve Medford. So why are their planes flying in? — Gary W., Medford That is very astute of you, Gary. It turns out looks can be deceiving. "That's really a Horizon plane," said Bern Case, the Medford airport director. He said Horizon has a contract with Frontier to provide service, like SkyWest provides service for United Airlines. So sometimes, when Horizon runs out of its planes painted with the Horizon logo, they use one of their planes painted with a Frontier logo (the Denver-based airline has wild animals painted on its planes' tails).
