Jackson County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute Thursday and arrested Terri Ann Tinsley, 44, after talking her out of her home in the 5700 block of Upton Road, where she had barricaded herself after the argument. Deputies got a call about 6:24 p.m. Thursday reporting a stabbing in the Central Point area near Upton Road and Scenic Avenue. The caller told police that Tinsley had quarreled with her 46-year- old boyfriend while they were driving away from a Central Point bar. According to police reports, the caller said she had stabbed him twice. Police reports didn’t include any information about the victim’s wounds. Deputies went to Tinsley’s home and found she was armed with a knife and had barricaded herself inside, a police report said. Advertisement They negotiated with her for about an hour before persuading her to give up her weapon and come out. She was arrested without further incident. Tinsley was lodged in Jackson County Jail on charges of second-degree assault, using a dangerous weapon, menacing and being a felon in possession of a weapon. She was arraigned on those charges Friday in Jackson County Circuit Court. Bail was set at $250,000 and she remained in jail after appearing in court. Second-degree assault is a Measure 11 crime that carries a minimum sentence under Oregon’s tough-on-crime law. She is set to return to court Aug. 1 for a pre-trial hearing. In court Friday, Tinsley also was arraigned on first-degree trespassing and second-degree criminal mischief charges stemming from an incident in Medford last month. She entered a not-guilty plea on both those counts.
