The purpose of the meeting, according to Mrs. C. L. Schieffelin, who will call it to order, is to organize and work for the passage of the railroad bond election. There has been considerable agitation against the passage of the bond election, according to Mrs. Schieffelin, and the Greater Medford club has appointed as a committee to counteract this agitation Mrs. Jap Andrews, Mrs. F. E. Merrick and Mrs. Schieffelin, the chairman. Following the action of the women of the second ward, it is expected that the women of the other wards will perfect organizations to work for the same purpose. All women of the city are invited to attend the meeting. MEDFORD WINS FROM GOLD HILL BY SCORE OF 4-3 In a tight, fast game Medford won from Gold Hill Sunday by the close score of 4 to 3, Moran bringing in the winning tally in the ninth. Pruitt, pitching for Gold Hill, played sensational ball, striking out eleven men and allowing only one base on balls. He has a fast jump ball that is hard to connect with, and it is predicted that when he rounds info form later in the season there will be few safe hits allowed by him. Sieberts for Medford pitched steady ball and at all times held control. Several close decisions marked the last innings and were the cause of considerable hard talk on the part of both players and fans. In the ninth Sederstrom of Gold Hill, after making home, was called back to second on account of the second base coming loose. It was alleged that although he had touched the place where the bag belonged he had not touched the base itself. The decisions, though close, were probably fair, as they were given by the Gold Hill umpire.
