Michael Ray Provencio, 21, of the 2000 block of Table Rock Road, was arraigned in Jackson County District Court. He entered not guilty pleas to charges of first- and second-degree robbery, second- degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, unauthorized use of a vehicle, fourth-degree assault and physical harassment. Police arrested Provencio on Aug. 5 after linking him to a break-in July 21 in which the burglar used the spray lubricant and solvent to subdue an apartment resident. Police allege the burglar entered a unit at Morningside Apartments at 2001 Table Rock Road through an unlocked screen-door. When he found the apartment’s resident at home, he threatened the man with scissors and sprayed him with WD-40, Medford police Lt. Mike Moran said. Advertisement He demanded money and took the resident’s wallet, which contained cash and credit cards, and car keys, the police report alleged. Before fleeing, the burglar tied the resident’s hands with a shirt and tried to gag him with a towel, the police report said. The victim told police his car was moved in the apartment complex’s parking lot. Provencio remains lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $500,000 bail. His next court appearance is set for Aug. 25.
