But the Indians found an opening in the third period and pulled away for a 52-39 victory in the championship game of the Les Schwab South Coast Tournament. Steven Davis and Myles Walkup each nailed crucial 3-pointers during the 18-9 third quarter surge that sealed the win for the Indians, who improved to 10- 0. "We had a difficult time finding a shot," said Ashland coach Rick Cornelius of his team’s third-quarter woes. "They’re size really started wearing us down." The Grizzlies (8-2) trailed 18-16 at the half using a patient offense. Advertisement "I thought we actually played pretty well tonight," said Cornelius. "The score doesn’t indicate how close the game was. It was that one quarter that got away from us." Davis and Jeff Stricklin led the Indians with 13 points apiece. Josh Cornelius scored 14 points and ripped down 10 rebounds to lead Ashland and was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Jeff Skinner, who also snagged 10 boards, made the all-tournament first team, while Josh McDermott landed on the second team.
