Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend March 15, 2006 Singler hasn’t committed to a college There’s no truth to a rumor making the rounds on internet Web sites Tuesday that South Medford High basketball standout Kyle Singler has announced he’ll attend Duke, according to the family. A poster on Oregonlive.com said Singler, a 6-foot-8 junior regarded as one of the nation’s top recruits, revealed his plans at a team banquet. In fact, there was no team dinner. Kris Singler, Kyle’s mother, confirmed in a phone call Tuesday that her son has not made an announcement. Kyle Singler helped lead the Panthers (27-2) to a runner-up finish at the Class 4A boys basketball state tournament in Eugene. His 20-point average was second in the tournament after going 23-for-39 from the field. For his efforts, Singler earned his second straight selection on the first-team all-tournament squad. Singler was also chosen as the Southern Oregon Conference player of the year, and has said that his "short list" of potential universities includes Duke, UCLA and Arizona.
