COVID-19 cases up slightly in Rogue Valley By Vickie Aldous Updated: Oct 12, 2022 05:22 PM A A COVID-19 cases trended slightly up in Jackson and Josephine counties over the past week and dipped slightly statewide, according to Oregon Health Authority data released Wednesday. OHA reported 197 new COVID-19 cases in Jackson County, for a daily average of 28.1 cases. For Josephine County, OHA reported 147 new cases for the week, for a daily average of 21.0 cases. No Jackson or Josephine county residents died of COVID-19-related causes from Oct. 5-11. Across Oregon, six people died of COVID-19-related causes, OHA said. The state saw 3,375 new COVID-19 cases over the past week, averaging 482 daily. Oregon hospitals were caring for 248 patients with the virus as of Tuesday, while Rogue Valley hospitals had 42 patients with the virus. Hospitalizations have remained flat locally and statewide, according to state hospitalization data.
