Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend February 5, 2006 Restaurant Inspections Jackson County health inspectors evaluated 91 restaurants in January. All passed their semi-annual inspections, scoring 70 points or higher. Inspectors subtract points from a perfect score of 100 for critical violations. A portion of scores appears weekly in the Mail Tribune. Eight restaurants received a score of 100: Abby’s Pizza Inn of Rogue River, Rogue River; Big Town Hero, Central Point; Branding Iron Tavern, Medford; Burger King, White City; Advertisement Dairy Queen, West Main Street, Medford; Picnic Basket Delicatessen, Shady Cove; Purple Parrot South Central Avenue, Medford; RVMC Espresso Bar, Medford. Restaurants that received passing scores are: Abby’s Legendary Pizza, White City — 92; Access Inc. Main Kitchen, Medford — 93; Allyson’s of Ashland, Ashland — 84; America’s Best Kids Coffee Bar, Medford — 99; Arbor House International — 99; Asian Grill — 89; Bad Ass Coffee, Crater Lake Avenue, Medford — 98; Bambu, Medford — 93; Bear Creek Operations Cafeteria — 94; Beckie’s Cafe, Prospect — 92; Bento Phoenix, Phoenix — 95; Big Daddy’s Pizza, Beer, Wings, & Things, Gold Hill — 90; Brite Spot Cafe II, Shady Cove — 92; Burger King, Crater Lake Highway, Medford — 98. Critical violations include: foods held at improper temperatures, improperly cooled or reheated, not properly protected from contamination, from unapproved origins, unsafe, adulterated, or not honestly presented, not date-marked or discarded upon expiration; raw animal foods improperly cooked; presence of rodents or insects; inadequate personal hygiene; failure to clean and sanitize food equipment; lack of an approved water system; toxic chemicals or cleansers not properly stored, used, or labeled. Restaurant scores are posted at jacksoncounty.org. Inspection files are open to the public at the division of environmental health, Jackson County Health and Human Services, 1005 E.
