It’s pretty impressive but I was wondering how Oregon’s bridges stack up against it. What’s the tallest bridge in Oregon? I thought we had one that was nearly that tall. — R.J., Medford Nope, R.J., the striking steel-and-concrete Millau Bridge in southern France, rising 891 feet above the Tarn River valley, has us beat, spans down. It opened to the public this week. Oregon’s tallest bridge is the Thomas Creek Bridge on Highway 101 which rises to 345 feet high in Curry County. The second tallest in the state is the Crooked River Bridge on Highway 97, 295 feet above the Crooked River Gorge. Advertisement But we do outdistance the new French bridge, which is 1.6 miles long. Our Columbia River Bridge on Highway 101 at Astoria is 4 miles long. And the United States can still boast about having "the world’s tallest suspension bridge." That would be Colorado’s Royal Gorge Bridge which towers 1,053 feet above the Arkansas River. However, it is only for foot traffic, not for a Renault.
