Medford police arrested Herring Tuesday on charges of felony fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and harassment. She was lodged in Jackson County Jail, where she remained Wednesday night on $12,000 bail. Warrant — Matthew John Frombach Jr., 27, of the 100 block of Haven Road, Jacksonville. Central Point police arrested Frombach Wednesday on a Lane County warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Wednesday night on $15,000 bail. Warrant — Shawna Lane Karp, 32, no address listed. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy arrested Karp Wednesday on a Multnomah County warrant charging her with identity theft and first-degree forgery. She was lodged in jail, where she remained Wednesday night on $10,000 bail. Warrant — Kirkland Enid Hampton, 41, of the 1900 block of Worthington Road, Eagle Point. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Hampton Wednesday on a Klamath County warrant charging him with first-, second-, and third-degree assault and coercion. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Wednesday night on $10,000 bail. Warrant — Marci Lynn Ward, 47, of the 1900 block of Worthington Road, Eagle Point. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ward Wednesday on a Klamath County warrant charging her with first-, second-, and third-degree assault and coercion. She was lodged in jail, where she remained Wednesday night on $10,000 bail. Weapons — Steven DeWayne Charter, 20, of the 600 block of East Archwood Drive, Eagle Point. A sheriff’s deputy arrested Charter Wednesday on charges of being a felon in possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed gun. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Wednesday night on $9,000 bail. Drugs — David Bickham, 38, of the 2200 block of Meals Drive, Medford. Bickham appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court Tuesday on an indictment charging him with possession of amphetamines. He was booked into jail and released. Drugs — Kenneth Ray Kantor, 42, of the 1800 block of East Barnett Road, Medford. Kantor appeared in Circuit Court on an indictment charging him with possession and delivery of marijuana. He was booked into jail and released. Drugs — Marissa Rose Schwartz, 19, of the 1300 block of Lee Street, Ashland. Schwartz appeared in Circuit Court on an indictment charging her with possession of Ecstasy. She was booked into jail and released. Crime reports Theft — 2700 block of Orchard Home Drive, Medford. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy took a report of $900 worth of items taken from a home. The items reportedly stolen weren’t identified in preliminary police reports. Theft — 900 block of Jade Circle, Medford. Medford police took a report of a missing diamond ring with an estimated value of $5,400. Theft — 300 block of Laurel Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a theft of miscellaneous tools with an estimated value of $800. Fire calls Fire investigation — 2803 Larch Ave., Central Point. Fire District No. 3’s Deputy Fire Marshall Mark Moran said damage was so severe in a garage fire Monday that no cause could be pinpointed. He said the blaze started in a shop and didn’t look suspicious. Fire investigation — 855 Hueners Lane, Jacksonville. Jacksonville Fire Chief Tracy Shaw said investigators weren’t able to find the cause of a fire that killed Joan Hinson, 54, Monday. She died of smoke inhalation and her death was ruled accidental. The fire department has closed its investigation, and an insurance company will start reviewing the fire today, Shaw said.
