He was born May 1, 1943 in Stockton, Calif. He graduated Humboldt State University and later received his MBA from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif. He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict, stationed in Korea as an instructor for the U.S. Army. A loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and brother he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue; his eight brothers and sisters; his three children, Julie, Jeff, and Jason; and his five grandchildren, Savanna, Bailey, Gavin, Jack, and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther, who passed in 1992. In 1991 he and Sue made Oregon their home and during his 24 years in the Rogue Valley he was a business owner (of Puck’s Doughnuts in Ashland and later Northwest Mail Services in Medford), an Ashland Elks member, and a frequent soccer referee. He loved spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, and never missed an opportunity to show them the Northwest. He was also an avid golfer, fisherman, and a frequent volunteer with organizations serving the disabled and underprivileged. A remembrance and celebration of his life will be held in August in Sacramento, Calif.
