ShareTech will outsource software sales ASHLAND � Share Tech Inc. has streamlined its e-commerce operations by closing one of its properties, Software.RocketDownload.com. The Ashland company will focus on outsourcing software sales to third-party distributors, a strategy that has proven successful in the past year. The company�s shareware site, Rocket Download, will remain open. Visitors will still be able to try thousands of software titles prior to purchase. Users were previously required to visit Software.RocketDownload.com to purchase software from the company. Now, they can make a purchase by simply clicking a button from one of Rocket Download�s review pages. Share Tech hopes to better leverage Rocket Download�s traffic, which routinely exceeds 1 million visitors a month. The statistics consistently make Rocket Download one of the most visited sites based in Southern Oregon. Third-party distributors, such as Issaquah, Wash.-based RegNow, maintain their own product databases and secure ordering facilities. Share Tech will simply match Rocket Download�s shareware archive with the product catalogs of the distributors.
