I was surrendered to the shelter because my aging body could no longer tolerate having young children around. I need to be around more gentle people. PERSONALITY : I'm past all that puppy energy and am now looking for a home that understands the needs of a senior gentleman such as myself. I am a well-mannered dog who takes to treats nicely and knows how to sit. I enjoy attention and will happily accept gentle petting. HIGHLIGHTS : I have done well at the shelter with other dogs my size during playgroups. I know there is a great retirement home out there for me — I just need those people to come along and fall in love with my smiling face, gray muzzle and all. I still have loads of love to share with you! AVAILABLE : At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Hwy., between Talent and Phoenix, open 7 days a week. COST : Jake’s adoption fee is $50, and includes a free in-home, 1-hour training and a wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Jake is neutered.
