Grass fire prompts ramp closures at Exit 30 By Local report Jul 12, 2018 05:44 PM A A Update: As of 8:52 p.m., the Exit 30 on- and off-ramps have been reopened, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation. North Medford freeway on- and off-ramps are expected to remain closed throughout the evening as crews battle a grass fire in the area, according to Oregon Department of Transportation and Medford Fire-Rescue. Ramps on and off southbound Interstate 5 are closed at Exit 30 following the grass fire, reported near the Bear Creek Greenway just after 5 p.m., according to ODOT and Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon reports. ODOT closed the freeway ramps at 5:30 p.m. As of just after 6 p.m. Thursday, the fire had grown from 2 to 3.5 acres according to a Medford Fire-Rescue update. The agency said it anticipates crews to be on the scene for several hours as crews mop up the fire.
