Medford police detectives Friday arrested Reis on two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, contempt and possession of synthetic drugs. Reis is suspected of abusing a girl known to him when she was about 6 years old, Medford police Lt. Tim George said. The alleged crimes occurred between 1998 and 2002, at an east Medford residence, George said. Reis was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Friday on more than $2 million bail. Sex abuse — Chester Junior Gilliam, 72, of the 200 block of Fern Valley Road, Phoenix. Oregon State Police troopers Friday arrested Gilliam on a warrant charging him with first-degree sexual abuse. According to an OSP news release, a four-month investigation showed Gilliam had sexual contact with a female younger than age 10. Gilliam was lodged in jail and later released after posting bail. Sex abuse — Edward Bryant Shelton Jr., 19, of the 400 block of North Columbus Avenue, Medford. A Medford police officer Friday arrested Shelton on charges of first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree rape. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Friday on $2 million bail. Theft — George Leroy Golden, 34, no known address. A Medford police officer Friday arrested Golden on a warrant charging him with first-degree theft. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Friday on $10,000 bail. Burglary — Christopher Sean Waites, 20, no known address. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy Friday arrested Waites on charges of conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary and possession of burglar’s tools. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Friday on $9,000 bail. Weapons, burglary — Kenneth Dale Herring, 40, of the 3800 block of Avenue A, White City. A sheriff’s deputy Friday arrested Herring on charges of being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon, conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary, attempted second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief. He was lodged in jail without bail. Advertisement Drugs — Joshua Richard Doyle, 25, of the 400 block of Kenwood Avenue, Medford. Doyle appeared Friday in Jackson County Circuit Court on an indictment charging him with methamphetamine possession. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance. Drugs — Priscilla Ann Rodd, 37, of the 2100 block of Roberts Road, Medford. Rodd appeared Friday in Circuit Court on an indictment charging her with methamphetamine possession. She was booked into jail and released on her own recognizance. Eluding — Marc Anthony Corso, 25, of the 7700 block of Division Road, White City. A sheriff’s deputy Friday arrested Corso on charges of attempted eluding in a vehicle, attempted eluding on foot, reckless driving and resisting arrest. He was lodged in jail and later released on his own recognizance. Crime reports Theft — 2600 block of Falcon Street, White City. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy Friday took a report of a theft in which jewelry valued at $750 was stolen.
