Jake Shimabukuro Ukulele rock star Jake Shimabukuro will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the Music Recital Hall, 450 S. Mountain Ave., at Southern Oregon University in Ashland. Shimabukuro’s music garnered mainstream attention when his ukulele arrangement of George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” went viral in 2006 on YouTube. Second St., Ashland. The program features Freeman on guitar, octave mandolin and Scottish vocals, James Keigher on bodhran and mando-cello, and Michaella Brynn on pipes.
