Butte Falls resident survives knife attack A 25-year-old Butte Falls man was in fair condition Monday night after being stabbed several times with a steak knife during an attack over the weekend. Raymond McIntyre was stabbed at least three times, including in the neck and chest, and was recovering at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, said Eagle Point police Sgt. R.E. Walker. Melissa Ann Ulrey, 21, of Eagle Point, who allegedly attacked McIntyre, is expected to be arraigned today in Jackson County Court. She was arrested Sunday on a charge of first-degree assault and lodged in Jackson County Jail. She was being held on $1 million bail. Eagle Point police received a call of domestic violence just before 9 p.m. Saturday night from a 9-year-old boy. Officers went to Idlewood Mobile Park, 414 Stevens Road No. 13, where Ulrey lives alone, Walker said. Officers found McIntyre lying in a back bedroom of the home, bleeding from his wounds. An unidentified woman and her three children also were in the home. Officers and paramedics rushed McIntyre to the hospital. Officers spoke to McIntyre, who told them that he had spent the day with Ulrey, his former girlfriend. They both had been drinking and started arguing late at night, Walker said. Then Ulrey allegedly attacked McIntyre with the knife before fleeing to Butte Falls. Eagle Point officers went back to her home Sunday afternoon and arrested her.
