Sister City group offering free Christmas tree pickup Thursday Dec 29, 2016 at 1:35 PM Dec 29, 2016 at 1:35 PM The Medford Sister City Association 2017 Ambassadors will pick up Christmas trees in Medford and Jacksonville between about 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, and Saturday, Jan. 7. Residents should place the tree near the street, and it should be labeled "for Medford Alba Sister City Association." The pickup is free, but recipients can make donations to the organization by attaching an envelope to the tree with a cash or check donation. The association has been part of an exchange program with Alba, Italy, since 1960. This year 29 students from North and South Medford high schools and St. Mary's will travel to Italy for a three-week academic trip. The tree pickup is a fundraiser to help raise the $100,000 needed for the students to go. For details, email [email protected]
