Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend August 14, 2005 SinceWeAsked: Pant, pant, pant ... It’s Too Hot! Well, we asked for it. Remember when it was cold (yeah, this is Oregon, in case you forgot) and we all wished for some warmer temperatures? Well, we got ’em. Now that the sizzling days of August are upon us, we thought there must be some more reasons to complain about this darned heat. We asked: Advertisement What's the one task you have to do no matter what, that you just can't stand to do in this heat? After you’re done reading the following reader answers, check out our new question, which concerns ID theft. Don't know what my worst task to do in this heat is but my favorite would be shoveling snow off the driveway. — Bill H., Eagle Point Pulling the weeds in the garden! — C.E., Medford One task I have to do, when temperature indicates the devil’s home must be near, is to stop at a red light by a Harley. — Bill H., Medford Stand with Women in Black outside in the sun to protest this immoral occupation of Iraq and the continued disastrous policies of George Bush. — Japhy, Ruch For me it is the drive home from work. I drive older car that does not have AC and even at 65 mph, the air is too hot. — James A., Central Point Mowing and weeding my yard. I put it off as long as I can but when I start to lose sight of my house I know it is time no matter how hot it is!— Maria, Central Point This week’s question It seems there are criminals around every corner these days, just waiting to make your life miserable. Take the case of a local man who got caught up in an identity theft scam and had his name appear in the police log. By the way, have you thought about investing in a good paper shredder? We asked: Are you worried about becoming a victim of identity theft or other computer-based crimes? Please keep your answers brief and on the issue at hand. Responses received without your name and town can not be considered for publication. All responses will appear on the Web site a week from today. You may submit your answer by using the form here on the Web site, or you may respond directly to SinceWeAsked: Pant, pant, pant ... Its Too Hot!
