Be Santa for folks in need Here is a list of organizations accepting donations for those in need: CERVS Rogue Valley Holiday Toy Drive -- Drop off toys in drop boxes at G.I. Joes, the Shenandoah, or the CERVS office, 601 N. Grape St., Medford. Or bring a toy to the Car Cruise in the Big R parking lot at noon Saturday, and give it to the driver of the car you'd like to own. Native American Outreach -- The Jerusalem Center Church is collecting supplies for their Native American Outreach and community service. They are seeking donations of any kind -- food, shelter and jobs are always needed. Contact Ray or Thelma Olsen at 482-2586. Emergency food boxes -- ACCESS Food Share (774-4322), CERVS (779-8564), and Ashland Community Food Bank (488-3886) are three agencies providing emergency food boxes for the holiday. Call for drop-off spots and hours. Children's Advocacy Center -- Accepting donations of gifts and toys for children up to 18 years old. Call Christina at 734-5437. Community Works -- Accepting donations of new toys, clothing and gift certificates, and holiday dinners for children and families at 900 E. Main St., Medford. Call Cass at 779-2393, ext. 228. Christmas Shoebox for Seniors -- ACCESS Senior Services is accepting gifts. Call 774-4308. Helping Hands Tree at Rogue Valley Mall -- Through Christmas Eve, people who want to help disadvantaged children can pick the name of a child off the Helping Hand Tree on the lower level of the mall, buy the child a gift from his or her wish list, and then drop off the unwrapped item at the Customer Service Center, also on the mall's lower level. Call 776-3255. Jackson County sheriff's bike drive -- The Jackson County sheriff's department, along with CERVS and other local community groups, are collecting new or used bicycles or tricycles in good repair for distribution to needy families. Bikes will be collected through Dec. 15. Drop-off sites: Jackson County sheriff's department, 787 W. Eighth St., Medford; sheriff's office, Rogue Family Center, 2400 Antelope Road, White City; Applegate Rural Action Team office, 60 Upper Applegate Road, Ruch; Upper Rogue Rural Action Team office, 51 Mill Creek Drive, Prospect; Evans Valley Fire District No. 6, 8677 E.
