Thanks to her efforts, South Medford was able to finish in a tie for third place with Roseburg at 19 points apiece. South Eugene scored 28 points to edge Sheldon (20) for the SWC team title. Bartlett will be the lone player from Medford to play in next week’s Class 6A state tournament since only the top four finishers in singles and doubles qualify for the event. After coming up short in a three-set loss to Willamette’s Ivana Bilski, 6-1, 1-6, 6-2, Bartlett regrouped to not lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Thurston’s Sarah Morris in the third-place final. Eustis edged Bilski for the SWC singles title, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. In doubles, the Grants Pass tandem of Abi Johnson and McKenna Stephenson cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over South Eugene’s Jackie Bahn and Hannah Nute in the championship final. Third-place final — Hall-Novak, Ros, d. Forest-Clark, She, 6-2, 6-3. Championship final — Johnson-Stephenson, GP, d. Bahn-Nute, SE, 6-0, 6-1. 4A/3A/2A/1A SPECIAL DISTRICT 3: At Redmond, Cascade Christian sophomore Nicole Morse won her second straight Special District 3 singles championship while improving to 11-0 on the year at Sam Johnson City Park. Morse, who has not lost a set all year, will next compete in the state championships, which begin Thursday in Corvallis. The top-seeded Morse beat second-seeded Lilly Inthisan of Klamath Union, 6-3, 6-3, in the finals. Before that, Morse downed Henley’s Kelsie Asay, 6-0, 6-1, in the semifinals. Boys Tennis SWC DISTRICT: At Roseburg, South Medford’s Kylar Tosh finished runner-up and Mitch Steadman was third in singles action, while the Panthers’ doubles team of Ben Vaughn and Keigin Tosh placed third during the final day of the Southwest Conference district tournament. All players advancing to semifinals had already earned berths to state, which starts Thursday in Portland. Kylar Tosh, seeded second, lost to top-seeded Peter Shen of South Eugene, 6-3, 6-3, in the final. The third-seeded Steadman rebounded to beat Grants Pass’ Jonathan Williams, 6-2, 6-0. Vaughn and Keigin Tosh, seeded third, fell to second-seeded Stefan and Lucas Ball of Roseburg, 6-2, 6-0, in the semifinals before winning their third-place match, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6. South Medford’s Kai Elam lost in the consolation championship, 6-3, 6-1.
