Frederick added a two-point conversion pass to Nick Bashans for the game’s final tally. Frederick completed 7-of-12 passes for 75 yards, while Bashans added a 4-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to trim Illinois Valley’s 12-0 lead. The Chieftains (3-2, 1-1 Skyline) had 125 yards rushing compared to 129 for the Cougars, who received scoring runs from Josh Pope and Natty Krauss. In a game of field position, Rogue River gained the advantage late in the fourth following a booming 98-yard punt by Matt Branch that got caught up into a tailwind and rolled to the Cougars’ 1-yard line.
