Travis Charles Lamensdorf, 24, of the 2500 block of Gould Avenue, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to two counts of first-degree burglary and one count of third-degree theft. He has a pre-trial conference hearing scheduled for Dec. 21 in Jackson County Circuit Court. On Sept. 17, Lamensdorf allegedly was riding as a passenger in a pickup truck when he spotted what he believed to be a can of gas inside a garage in the 1000 block of North Rose Street in Phoenix. The driver stopped the vehicle and Lamensdorf allegedly ran into the garage and grabbed the can, according to an affidavit. A woman who lived in the house with the garage spotted Lamensdorf and alerted her son, who chased him. Lamensdorf allegedly jumped into the truck and the driver drove away, the affidavit said. Phoenix police later found the driver and Lamensdorf, and both allegedly said Lamensdorf had taken the container, which turned out to be full of water. Lamensdorf said he had thrown away the container near a Jack in the Box restaurant in Medford, the affidavit said. In a separate case, Lamensdorf is scheduled to go to trial in February on charges of second-degree burglary, identity theft and first-degree theft. He is accused of unlawfully entering Star Body Works in Medford, using another party's personal identification, and stealing at least $1,000 in cash from A-1 Self Storage in Medford in March of this year. In a third case, Lamensdorf is facing a charge of third-degree theft for allegedly stealing a lighter from Sportsman's Warehouse in Medford in May.
