Ashland boys sweep meet ROSEBURG -- Ashland's Adam Foley and Brad Scoles combined for four individual victories and two relay wins as the Grizzly boys defeated Roseburg in a District 6 three-school swimming dual meet Tuesday at the Roseburg YMCA pool. Ashland's boys went undefeated in dual meets against the Indians and North Medford, while the Roseburg girls swept the Black Tornado and Ashland. The Ashland boys defeated Roseburg 88-83 in the closest dual during the competition. Foley posted victories in the 200 (1:57.10) and 500 freestyle (5:11.92) and Scoles added wins in the 100 freestyle (51.2) and 200 individual medley (2:09.61). Foley and Scoles combined to help the Grizzlies win the 200-freestyle relay (1:36.94) along with Dustin Ashland and Brian Mamaradla. Foley and Scoles teamed with Mamaradla and Jamie Smegiel to win the 400 freestyle relay (3:37.09). In girls, North Medford split a pair of dual meets. The Black Tornado registered a 93-78 victory over the Grizzlies but dropped a 95-74 decision to the Indians. North's Jamie Erickson won the 100 freestyle against Roseburg and Ashland, while teammate Kelly Berry defeated the Indians and Grizzlies in the 100 breaststroke.
