Car repairs essential for hard-working man

Once that need is filled, donations may be distributed to others in need. This Medford man’s car sits idle for want of repairs as he spends hours walking between work and other responsibilities. Intellectually disabled, the 33-year-old man lives independently in his own apartment with support services from Living Opportunities in Medford. Income from multiple jobs keeps him on his feet, and he travel miles upon miles each week for doctor’s appointments, gym workouts and carrying out chores and errands that fulfill his day-to-day needs. Transportation would allow him to connect with more facets of the local community and achieve his life goals. His vehicle’s driver-side door does not open, and it needs a new mirror. The engine’s fuel pump leaks, which results in fluid loss and overheating. The heating system and battery don’t work. And the 1992 Cadillac also requires new tires. Gift certificates to local auto-repair businesses and a tire store would expand the man’s horizons as he pursues a healthy, thriving lifestyle.
