No one was injured during the 2:33 p.m. robbery at Jack’s Board House, 456 Highland Ave., according to the Medford Police Department. The robber, described as a thin man in his 20s, stepped into the store and confronted the lone female employee, police said. The man was holding a 8-inch kitchen knife with a black handle, but he did not threaten the clerk with it, Medford police Lt. Mike Moran said. He ordered the clerk to empty the cash register, and she complied, Moran said. The robber was last seen fleeing south on foot toward Siskiyou Boulevard. Advertisement One witness told police that, prior to the robbery, the suspect may have entered one or more of the other stores in the small strip mall at the intersection of Siskiyou Boulevard and Highland Avenue, Moran said. At least two of those fellow businesses — the Purple Parrot and the Minute Market — have surveillance equipment and investigators plan on reviewing their videotapes in search of clues, Moran said. The robber was described as a white male in his late 20s with a thin build, dark eyes, black scraggly hair above the collar and a scraggly beard. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and dark tennis shoes. Police ask anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Mike Blair at 774-2242 or Medford police dispatchers at 770-4783.
