SINCE YOU ASKED Since You Asked: Six waterways feed Bear Creek in Medford Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Apr. 3, 2015 at 12:01 AM Posted Apr. 3, 2015 at 12:01 AM » Social News We were excited to try out the new bike path from Ellendale to the Bear Creek bike path the other day. The new path sort of follows Larson Creek. Walking north on the bike path through Medford, we realized we didn't know the name of the several other creeks that flow into Bear Creek. Can you tell us all the names of the tributaries to Bear Creek in Medford, in order? — Mark C., Medford   Well, Mark, the city of Medford has identified a total of six tributaries in the Bear Creek system, including Larson Creek. Lone Pine Creek runs east of Interstate 5 near the intersection of Biddle Road and Table Rock Road. Crooked Creek flows south from Bear Creek through southwest Medford toward South Stage Road. Lazy Creek flows east just north of East Barnett Road. Larson Creek, of course, flows just south of East Barnett Road east beneath North Phoenix, where it splits into its middle and north forks. Gore Creek, the southernmost tributary in the city limits, flows beneath Highway 99 just north of the Phoenix-Medford line. All of the streams are protected under the city's Riparian Corridors Ordinance, passed in 2011. Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O.
