Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend August 27, 2005 Police seek men in assault, attempted break-in GRANTS PASS — Police here are searching for two suspects who early Friday shot at and assaulted a Grants Pass man after they tried to break into his house. At around 12:37 a.m. Todd Travalini, 30, of the 100 block of Roberson Lane, heard his door bell ring. He answered and spoke to two men, who asked to use his phone to call a motel, police said in a news release. Travalini handed the men the phone and closed the door. Moments later the men knocked again, asking for information about local motels. When Travalini opened his door, the men tried to force their way into his home, officials said. At some point, one of the suspects produced a handgun and fired it at Travalini. Travalini managed to escape to a neighbor’s house and call 9-1-1, officials said. The suspects then fled northbound on Cloverlawn Drive in the 2300 block toward Grants Pass. Their vehicle is described as a small, white sedan with chrome after-market wheels, officials said. Advertisement Travalini suffered minor injuries during the incident. The first suspect is described as a white male, approximately six feet tall, weighing around 170 pounds. He has black, neck-length dreadlocked hair and a mustache. He was wearing an oversized, blue-checkered flannel long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is described as a white male, approximately five feet six inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds. He has ear-length blond hair and was wearing a black baseball hat with red trim. He was wearing a black long-sleeve sweatshirt, blue Adidas nylon pants and white tennis shoes. He had facial acne, officials said. Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call (541) 474-5160.
