Power outage hits more than 16,000 Josephine County customers

More than 29,000 people in Grants Pass and surrounding communities lost power this morning following a large-scale outage, according to Pacific Power. Rogue River in Jackson County was also affected, according to an update from the utility company, with more than 2,700 additional customers affected. The outage happened just after 7:30 a.m. Power was back just before 9 a.m., two hours before the estimated 11 a.m. fix. The cause is under investigation.
