Jacksonville planner quits JACKSONVILLE -- The Planning Commission is searching for a new member to replace Dan Mollahan, who has resigned. "I'm not going to renew my Planning Commission position so I can spend more time with my family," said Mollahan, who has served in the volunteer post for the past three years. The board is seeking a replacement. Applicants must be city residents for six months or longer, said Jason Locke, city planner. The Planning Commission will meet with Jacksonville City Council members later this month to discuss the conditions of approval for a controversial conditional use permit application from First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville. The City Council on Monday approved the church's plans for a new building on the corner of Middle and Singler streets in the Pheasant Meadow Subdivision. The council's vote overturned an earlier decision by the Jacksonville Planning Commission.
