SOU (15-8, 12-1), which had won 16 straight against league rivals since last Feb. 15, stormed to a 6-0 lead in the opening two minutes, but the T-Birds took the lead for good with a 25-4 run and led by as much as 19 in the second half. The Raiders briefly cut the margin to six in the closing seconds before CC pulled away for the school’s first-ever win in eight meetings with SOU. Men’s Basketball CASCADE 58, SOUTHERN OREGON 53 — At Portland, 18th-ranked Cascade College overcame Southern Oregon’s strong upset bid. The T-Birds, who went 0-for-14 from 3-point range in the defensive struggle, avenged an earlier setback to the Raiders (7-18, 3-10) by coming back from a 41-40 deficit with 7:16 remaining and holding off a late SOU charge that cut a nine-point deficit to two, 54-52, with a minute left.
