Trevor Palmer placed first in the 800 meters with a time of 1:53.20 and set a new meet record in the 1,500 with a time of 3:21.59. Palmer was also a part of the first-place 4x400-meter relay team. Jasen Hartford also set a new meet record with a time of 10.84 in the 100 and won the 200 with a time of 22.23. Hartford and the 4x100-meter relay team placed first with 42.90. Kento Kawamura landed a national qualifying time for the NAIA Championships with a time of 53.87 in the 400-meter hurdles. The pole vault competition was dominated by the SOU men, who won the top six spots. Robbie Johnston placed first with a 16-1 mark, followed by Ryan Musselman (15-7) and Shane Booth (15-1¼ ). Advertisement Scott Myers won the shot put (53¼ ) and came in second in discus (153-10). Nick Hanson won the triple jump with a 45-3½ , while Jeremiah Lewman came in with a time of 55.21 in the 400 intermediate hurdles. The SOU women’s team placed second in the championships with a team score of 111, behind OIT’s 278 points. Emily Dunn set a new personal record of 25.98 in winning the 200 and placed second in the 100 (12.56). The women’s 4x400-meter relay team finished first with a time of 4:02.45 and second in the 4x100 relay (49.84). Bree Cochran also shined for SOU in winning the discus with a 137-11 mark, good for a provisional qualifier. Cochran’s second-place mark in the javelin (130-8) earned her a national qualifier. MEN’S TEAM SCORES — Southern Oregon University 245, Eastern Oregon University 166, Oregon Institute of Technology 118, Warner Pacific 36, Northwest University 20, Albertson 14, Cascade College 11, Western Baptist 2. WOMEN’S TEAM SCORES — Oregon Institute of Technology 278, Southern Oregon University 111, Eastern Oregon University 88, Northwest University 66, Warner Pacific 26, Albertson 16, Cascade College 10, Western Baptist 2. Women’s Tennis ALBERTSON 7, SOUTHERN OREGON 2 — At Nampa, Idaho, Southern Oregon sophomore Annie Chaney fell to Albertson’s Anna Westerberg at the NAIA Region I Tournament Saturday. The 6-2, 6-3 loss leaves Chaney with a 13-1 record in singles action for the year. Chaney rebounded to team with Nicole Nakama to win their No. 1 doubles match, while Danielle Farber was victorious at No. 3 singles for SOU. SINGLES — Anna Westerberg, A, d.
