The daughter of Kevin and Tamara Litwiller of Medford impressed judges with her poise and speaking skills, as she also won the top interview award. She receives $2,000 in scholarship money as the new Miss Rogue Valley and another $500 as interview winner, and will go on to compete in the Miss Oregon Pageant at Seaside in July. First runner-up in the pageant held at the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Medford was Cassie Tolman, 18, of Medford, a senior at Phoenix High School. She earns a $1,500 scholarship. Second runner-up honors went to Julia Celeste Strickland, 20, of Central Point, a junior at Southern Oregon University. She gets a $1,000 scholarship. Advertisement And the third runner-up was Cassidie Conaway, 18, of Medford, a freshman at Southern Oregon University. That award is for a $750 scholarship. Conaway also won the Miss Congeniality title, worth $250. Tolman’s performance of a Puccini opera selection won her the talent award, worth a $500 scholarship. A nonfinalist talent award of $250 went to Kendra Graham, 18, of Central Point, a senior at Crater High School. She sang "I’m Shy" from "Once Upon a Mattress." Burrill plans to attend Oregon State University in the fall and seek a degree in social work. Her platform is the prevention of child sexual abuse.
