Are there any plans in the works to bring Denny's back to the area? — John M., Medford Alas, about the closest Denny's has come to Medford is the Denny's PBA Tour that stopped off at Lava Lanes this month. OrCal Inc., of Corona, Calif., owned by Hamid Navran, is the franchise holder for Southern Oregon and the upper reaches of California. OrCal operates restaurants in Eugene, Roseburg, Grants Pass, Klamath Falls and Yreka, Calif. We couldn't find out much from Denny's itself, a 1,500-restaurant chain based in Spartanburg, S.C., which knows of no rebuilding plans. That Denny's was leveled with several other businesses (including the area's lone IHOP) in 2003 when ODOT cleared the way for the north interchange project, and the Ashland location closed that year as well. No one was answering the phone at the OrCal headquarters, however, a manager at the Denny's in Grants Pass told Since You Asked researchers that he knew of nothing in the works for Jackson County.
