Woman in rape fantasy get probation, $100 fine A woman caught play-acting a rape scene under the Jackson Street bridge in Medford last summer was sentenced Monday on one count of public indecency. Jackson County Judge Patricia Crain sentenced Misty Kathleen Cruz, 31, to 18 months probation, 16 hours of community service and fined her $100. On entering a plea of guilty, Cruz told Crain, when pressed, that she was embarrassed by her actions. "I hope that means this won't happen again," Crain said. "No, he's gone," Cruz said. "I hope that doesn't mean you're not responsible for your own behavior," Crain replied. Cruz's partner, Vincent Scott Zinglo, also faces a charge of public indecency in connection with the same incident. Zinglo has not appeared in court yet. The Cruz-Zinglo case gained notoriety at the time because country music recording artist Tracy Lawrence and his keyboardist, Richard Toops, were among a group of four passers-by that police say Zinglo invited to watch. The two men were out taking an early morning walk a day after appearing at the Jackson County Fair. Reports of Lawrence's exploit prompted disc jockeys at KRWQ-FM radio to boycott his music. The boycott was rescinded by station management a day later. Public indecency is defined as exposing one's genitals with the intent of arousing oneself or others.
