Super Bowl steelhead » Why we do this Posted by Tim Trower It’s pushing 2 in the morning, and I got home not long ago from another busy Friday night shift. I gotta be honest, I’m a little restless. I have a golf tournament in the morning and my partners already know my A game is MIA. Then there’s a feature story to finish on what I think is a very compelling local figure — it’s Super Bowl related and will be in Sunday’s edition. Mostly, there are more events of importance Saturday than we can get to and still manage the incoming calls and make deadline. Oh, and a space crunch, a few more ads than usual competing with our desire to play up the Super Bowl (go figure). Man, I hate to whine, but part of this blog thing is to give a glimpse of what we do. We’ll cover the four-time defending state-champion Crater wrestling team as it hosts the Southern Sky Conference tourney, but we’re not likely to get to anything else. Like the Sheldon-North girls game (that is our next choice if something loosens up), or the OIT-SOU men’s game, or the Southwest Conference wrestling championships. I can hear the phone ringing already. With any luck, we’ll be able to make it up to the others at some point. And look at that, 2 has come and gone. Good night. One Response to “Why we do this” Elli Rutter Says: February 5th, 2007 at 6:51 pm I just wanted to say thanks to all you guys/gals in the sports department for all you do. In the last 4 years high school swimming has gotten more press, and so has the age group team the Superior Stingrays. Thanks for including swimming, a growing sport in the valley, in your press. We thank you!! Proud swim parent and coach. Leave a Reply Mail Tribune Blogs is proudly powered by WordPress Entries (RSS) and Comments (RSS) .
