Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Browning Sunday on charges of first- degree possession of a forged instrument and first-degree theft. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on bail of $10,000 and later released because of overcrowding. Intoxicated driving — Shirley Marie Steinmuller, 55, of the 3500 block of South Pacific Highway, Medford. Medford police arrested Steinmuller Sunday on charges of felony driving under the influence of intoxicants, and driving while suspended. She was lodged in the county jail on bail of $28,000. Crime reports Burglary — Jackson County sheriff’s deputies took a report Sunday of a burglary at a residence in the 7600 block of Garrison Avenue, White City. Fire calls Structure fire — Firefighters responded Sunday to a structure fire in the 100 block of Hummingbird Lane in Talent. Units from Jackson County Fire District 5, Phoenix Fire Department and Ashland Fire Rescue were dispatched to the fire, which was reported at 10:52 a.m. Engineer Bob Holt of Fire District 5 estimated damage to the building and contents at $30,000 to $40,000. Several pet parrots died during the fire but the residents’ other pets survived. Holt said preliminary investigation indicated an electrical problem may have caused the fire.
